March 13th, 2024

Chair of the UK’s largest independently owned recruitment agency Carmen Watson has been awarded Diversity and Inclusion Leader at the West Midlands Leadership Awards 2024

Carmen Watson, of Warwickshire-based Pertemps Network Group, was presented with this award in front of more than 250 guests at the Macdonald Burlington in Birmingham.

Carmen has been part of Pertemps since the 1970s, advancing through the ranks from a secretary role.

She joined the Board of Directors at the age of 30 and has consistently championed equality and diversity, firmly believing in providing equal opportunities for everyone to succeed and advance.

Carmen said: “I am truly honoured to be named Diversity and Inclusion Leader.

“It's a reflection of our unwavering dedication to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

“This recognition reinforces our commitment to championing equality and diversity, driving positive change in our communities and beyond.”

TheBusinessDesk.com created the West Midlands Leadership Awards to celebrate the people who are role models within their organisations and raise the bar for their competitors.

Anna Cooper, assistant editor for the West Midlands at TheBusinessDesk.com, said: “In these challenging economic times, strong leadership stands as a beacon of inspiration.

“The ability to navigate hardship, make informed decisions, and inspire those around you reflects not only your expertise but also your dedication to the success of your team and the wider community.

“Despite this difficult period, the strength of the West Midlands is evident through those gathered together in this room.

“Each finalist demonstrated their commitment to excellence and I’m looking forward to seeing how each business is guided in the years to come.”
