Pertemps Network Group (PNG) has been officially recognised for its outstanding commitment to the Armed Forces by achieving Gold Award status from the Ministry of Defence (MOD).
PNG was selected to win the highest MOD ranking for the proactive work it does to find employment for current and ex servicemen.
The Defence Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) highlights employers such as PNG who are acting as advocates to the Armed Forces Community.
Speaking of PNG’s high achievement, the Rt Hon Michael Fallon MP said: “Through the Employer Recognition Scheme, we publically recognise the commitment that organisations such as Pertemps Network Group Ltd are making by acting as advocates for Defence people. We are grateful for their positive attitude and policies towards the Armed Forces community and see Pertemps as an exemplar employer supporting Defence.
“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate PNG on receiving this Gold Award and to thank them for the considerable support they have demonstrated to our Servicemen and women.”
The forward-thinking recruitment experts have carefully developed schemes and policies that offer bespoke employment solutions for people associated with the Armed Forces including the Portfolio Employment Model (PEM) designed to provide flexible, civilian driving careers to Army Reserves.
PEM gives Reservists joining the Royal Logistics Corps as drivers, the opportunity to top-up their skills, gain a civilian driving certificate (Driver CPC) and find guaranteed work that fits around their duties.
Kent Thompson, Pertemps Managing Director, said: “As the only business to form an employment partnership with the Army, it is an absolute honour and privilege to be officially acknowledged for the work that we do in meeting the needs of thousands of ex and current military staff, as well as their families.
“Transitioning to life in civvy street can be extremely challenging to people in the Armed Forces and seeking employment and upskilling is one of the main areas where our help is required. Receiving Gold Award status shows we are on the right track and we will continue to do all we can to fulfil our promise that those who serve, or have served, in the Armed Forces are treated fairly.”
In addition to PEM, Pertemps was praised by the Armed Forces for:
- Employing dedicated forces liaison officers to be an interlink between PNG and the MOD
- Genuine engagement with current serving military staff who have the same positive attitude to make civilian/military projects work
- Classroom and driver training to any current/past military personnel, at no cost to the individual
- Guaranteed employment, once assessment passed, at no cost to the individual
- Employment opportunities for spouses, partners and families of current/past military personnel.
Pertemps Network Group will be officially rewarded with their Gold status at an awards ceremony in London this October.
